Under why use a Tribal 8(a) Company?

Department of Defense sole‐source contracts may be awarded to Indian Tribal entities up to $100M without justification per FAR 19.808-1(a) and the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act

Indian Tribal entities may receive sole-source contracts from the Department of Defense for any amount above the $100M threshold with the simplified Justification & Authorization process per FAR 6.302-5(b)(4)

Outside of the Department of Defense, Indian Tribal entities are not subject to the standard $4M dollar threshold limitations on sole‐source contract awards that are applicable to other 8(a) entities. Instead, sole‐source contracts may be awarded to Indian Tribal entities up to $22M without justification per 13 CFR 124.506(b)

Indian Tribal entities may receive sole-source contracts for any amount above the $22M threshold with proper Justification & Authorization per 48 CFR 6.303.1
